Potential niches include parts suppliers, aircraft maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) services, aircraft rebuilding, avionics (electronic equipment) and general or corporate aviation. The EDPCT region is well suited to this specialized industry hosting two (2) regional airports and less than 45 minutes from two (2) international airports.

Communication is crucial, but never so much as on board an aircraft. Avionics include communication and navigation systems, autopilot systems, and electronic flight management systems (FMS). Onboard electronics that are unrelated to piloting tasks, such as video systems for passengers, are sometimes considered avionics as well. Many of these devices include embedded computers.
