The automotive industry continues to redefine itself and in doing so requires new and different levels of suppliers for their manufacturing and development. The shift in the automotive industry has turned toward the South and Southwest U.S. and additional announcements in Texas are likely in the next few years. Toyota, located just 45 minutes from EDPCT, is a prime example of this new breed of automotive manufacturing. While Tier One suppliers are required to be located on-site with Toyota, Tier Two suppliers do not. If fact, many suppliers prefer the flexibility of locating a short distance from the actual manufacturer. The EDPCT region is ideal for those automotive suppliers. Ease of mobility and extended flexibility is what most automotive suppliers have experienced by locating in central Texas.
